We went to a German restaurant called Secco in December 18th 2008. About eighteen students from GCA 10-D and 4 students from 12-D met in Kunlun road gate No.3 at half past six.
When we went into the restaurant, I was shocked by the strong Germen feeling. The main colors for the decoration in Secco were red and black. The lights are red. They’re not bright at all. The whole room seems a bit dark, but on the table, there’s a small red candle, gave people a romantic feeling.
The menu in Secco is very different from menu in most Chinese restaurant. There are only two main dishes written on a piece of paper. Another thick menu were beers and desserts menu, there’re more than two hundred kind of beverages in it, really amazing. I chose a cup of beer together with grapefruit juice. I forgot the professional name of it, but it really tastes good: not as bitter as black beer, a little sweet and has grapefruit tastes.
I chose a set meal with a small steak, some French goose livers, some traditional Italian cucumber and a potato pie. The species were poured at the edge of the plate and seems like a moon. The plate is beautiful and attractive. My slaver streamed in my mouth and I can’t wait to eat it. Although it tastes so-so, but the environment in the restaurant is more important than the food, I think.
It is a cultural experience for me. I wish one day I can have a girlfriend and take her to have candle dinner in Secco.
