Visitation the Memorial Hall of the Victims in Nanjing Massacre by Japanese Invaders

“Forgivable, but unforgettable.” John H.D Rabe said. We have to remember what the Japanese did in 1937. This part of the history would never wash away from every Chinese’s heart.
On March 8, 2009, I went to the Memorial Hall of The Victims In Nanjing Massacre By Japanese Invaders. It located in the west of Nanjing and it’s really big. The building seems strange from outside. The main part of the Memorial Hall is the museum. The color inside use mainly uses black, gave people a depressive feeling. Inside of the museum, it’s not departs to a lot of rooms, but a long and winding road. Thousands of historical things which uses during the Japanese invading time were put inside a glass room. Hundreds of pictures used a more direct way to told us how cruel were those Japanese invaders. Some screens were put beside the word instruction and seems more vivid. When we went outside the museum, there’s a big square in front of us. There’s no grass or flowers in the square, but full of white cobblestones like bones which gave people a horrible feeling. Beside the stones, there were several sculptured made by Wuweishan stand there. From the anguished emotion of the people in the sculpture, I was shocked. Thinking of those images in the museum, how tragic!
The exhibition does not let us learn how to hate Japanese. We have to learn how to forgive people. If those Japanese invaders know how to forgive people and own a warmer heart, how could they find their hearts to kill thousands of people? Also, this unforgettable history remind us LAGGING BEHIND LEAVES one VULNERABLE to ATTACKS. As a Chinese, own love and struggle for China!
