go to a performance
I watched a concert on the evening of May 1, 2009. It was a piano solo. The pianist was a very young man named Shenwenyu. He was really a genius on play piano and was called Mozart in China by some famous pianists. This concert was pretty excited because I used to study piano from grade 2 to grade 7. I have past level eight on piano test. Also, I love classical music very much. He played Beethoven’s Fate Symphony No.1; Hungarian Rhapsody written by Franz Liszt, FANTAISIE—IMPROMRTU OP.66 created by Chopin and some extremely difficult music written by Rachmaninoff. These melodies were all so familiar for me. When he was playing, my fingers were even out of control and started to play on my legs. When I was in elementary school, my mom always take me to watch some concert in concert hall. Once, the Russian National Symphony Orchestra went to Nanjing. My mom wanted to go by herself, but I also want to go with her. She said that I’m just a kid and it’s the same to listen to a concert at home and in the concert hall. Why do we waste 400RMB ticket money? But I said, is the same to feel the surf on the sandy beach and in television? My mom was shocked and let me go with her.
In Shenwenyu’s piano concert, the audiences are all parents and their children who want to study piano. Those kids are around five to ten years old. I was really shocked by those small kids because when they listen to the concert, they were really excited. I hope more and more people can appreciate classical music because it contains the musician’s thought and life. It’s also a reflection for a part of history.

another 10h Volunteer experience
There are three fruit stores, two supermarket and three drug stores next to my apartment. They have drastic competition everyday. But there’s only one hardware store next to my apartment. Why? I think because it’s really a good store and other businessmen are afraid to have a store beside it. There are hundreds of things make from metal in it. Their services are really good. No matter what hardware you buy from them, they will come to your house and fix it without any payment. Also, the seller in the hardware store is a high level technician. He can fix almost anything in a house. This helped him to be a successful businessman, I think.
On May 1, 2009; my mom went to the hardware store and buy some locker on doors. The seller came to my house and prepared to set them on the door. I thought this was a good time to have a working experience. So I asked him to teach me how to set the lockers on the doors. This was not easy at all. The locker on door has two parts. One is the handle, the other is a locker. First, the holes on the original door are not suitable for the new locker. So I have to use a drill to bore a bigger hole in it. After that, I have to put the locker at the right place and start to put the screw into it. There were fifteen screws totally.
When I finished the setting for doors, I went into the hardware store to sell things for them. There are hundreds types of pipes in the store. Some are for bathtub, some for toilet and some for coal gas. I cannot remember all the data of the pipe diameter, but I try my best to have a good altitude to customers.
It’s really a good chance to know how to deal with some problem in our life. This can help us a lot when we go to foreign countries in the future.
I had a special experience on March 14th 2009. I met a group of people from Denmark. Ms. Bartell told us they used to in Amity Foundation. They went back to China to have a look again to see the changes in China. Our mission is to take them around NFLS and introduce our school to them. Denmark is one of my favorite countries in the world because there’s another name for it called “bike kingdom”. As a cyclist, I talked a lot about bike with Danish named Hansen. He seems not very excited about bike, but when he saw the beautiful soccer field in our school, he seems really excited. He said that it was one of the best soccer fields he had ever seen. We also have a look around the dorm where NFLS students live. It’s also my first time to see what NFLS dorm looks like. We also saw the new gym and play ping-pong with them. There was a lot of fun. When they went back and say goodbye to us, Hanson gave me a coin which called Krone. I will miss them and try my best to earn money in the future so that I can travel to Denmark!
